The morning is spent on a fascinating Living Desert Tour, where experienced guides reveal the hidden world of desert-adapted life. Track well-camouflaged creatures such as geckos, lizards, beetles and the famous sidewinder snake, and learn how these tiny survivors thrive in one of the world’s oldest deserts.

At around 11h00, guests are picked up in the dunes to continue the adventure. The afternoon shifts to epic scale with an exhilarating 4×4 dune drive south of Walvis Bay. Travel past coastal and desert viewpoints, traverse towering dunes, and experience the breathtaking moment where golden sands meet the Atlantic Ocean at iconic Sandwich Harbour. It’s the Namib experienced at every level — from its smallest secrets to its grandest landscapes.

This tour is family-friendly, educational and suitable for most fitness levels. Most activities take place near the vehicle, with only short walks on sand.

• Tours operate daily throughout the year, except on 1 January and 25 December.
